New tyre regulations: obligations and penalties for motorists. As of 15 April 2025, Italian motorists will have to comply with new regulations concerning the tyres on their vehicles. Those who do not replace their winter tyres with summer tyres risk fines ranging from 422 to 1,682 euros, as well as having their vehicle registration certificate withdrawn. This obligation is not a mere formality, but an important measure to ensure safety and legality on the road. In addition, the police will intensify their checks, ready to penalise offenders. There is a one-month grace period until 15 May, but the risk of fines remains high.
